Crazy times we live in. Consoles have generally been half their launch price at this point during previous generations. With the exception of some holiday sales, the cheapest time to buy a 9th gen console has been at launch. Sadly, Sony will most likely follow suit.

I can only imagine how expensive the next Xbox and PlayStation are going to be.

That's why I traded up to the PS5 Pro and Series X when I did.

The PS5 Pro is a much better investment than the PS4 Pro was. With the way console generations are going, the PS5 Pro will most likely be supported for most of the PS6's lifetime, and its games will probably fare well against the PS6 versions.

That's insane. Who knew the cheapest price for this generation's consoles would be the launch price.

I bought my PS4 slim for $199 and it included the disc version of Spider-Man, and that was only 3 years after the PS4 launch.

I've said this before, but this will be my last console generation. Luckily it'll be around for a while longer because cross-generation games will be even more necessary when the overpriced next-gen systems launch.
